Hello! We’re Derek and Lauren, the owners of the Curiosity Shoppe and gallery in San Francisco, and creative directors of Pop-Up Magazine.

Smarts & Crafts is where we collect our obsessions, observations, projects, inspirations and discoveries.

When we’re not running the Shoppe, we keep busy learning and doing as much as we can. Current interests include: sewing, photography, beekeeping, scenic drives, whittling, weaving, crocheting, cooking, knitting, knot-tying, documentary films, camping…oh you get the idea…. Every now and again we decide to revive the Curiosity Guild, a collective that offers workshops, field trips, appreciation nights and special events. We also enjoy contributing to a number of fun design blogs and publications.
