If you have an Etsy shop, you know that you could practically make a full-time job out of maintaining and promoting it.  For those of us without such copious free time, here are three quick ways you can optimize your shop in under five minutes:

My Etsy for Facebook: you can add this from within Etsy or Facebook and you can put it on your personal profile or a business page.  Just click the My Etsy button (under the + tab in Facebook, and under “promote” in “Your Etsy”), decide on a couple of options and voila!  Your whole shop will have its own Facebook tab.

Use all 14 of your available tags. There’s really no reason to take advantage of them all.  They’re free!  Just don’t waste them on meaningless descriptors like “cool” or “unique.”  Having trouble thinking of tags?  Try using colors (red, rainbow, neon), audience (mom, teacher, pet lover), or occasions (graduation, birthday, autumn).

Set Up Google Analytics: this couldn’t be easier in Etsy.  If you have a Google/Gmail account, just visit google.com/analytics and click “Add Website Profile.”  Type in the address of your Etsy shop and click “Finish.”  This will give you a tracking ID that you paste into “Web Analytics” in “Your Etsy.”  Within 24 hours you’ll be able to see exactly how many people visit your shop, where they’re coming from, what they searched for to get there, and tons more useful information.
